Ledger Entry
Writing down a fact the clue gives you that has nowhere to go on the board yet.
Why it works
Not every true statement about a puzzle can be drawn as a mark. Either/or clues, conditionals, and open comparisons all carry real information that has to live somewhere other than a cell.
Trigger
Any clue whose deduction can't be turned into a yes or no mark on first read.
Common mistake
Reading an unmarkable clue, shrugging, and moving on, instead of writing it down where you'll see it again.
Example
An either/or clue with nowhere to mark yet still deserves a line in the margin: 'turtle is Mina or Theo.' You'll need it later.
