Ledger Maintenance
Keeping the off-grid notes tidy: adding a fact when a clue cannot be marked, and crossing it off once it finally lands on the board.
Why it works
A ledger that grows without ever shrinking becomes as hard to scan as the original clue list. Pruning it as facts resolve keeps it useful for the whole solve.
Trigger
Every time a clue produces an off-grid fact, and every time an old ledger entry finally gets marked.
Common mistake
Adding to the ledger without ever removing resolved entries, until it is longer and less useful than the clue list it was meant to replace.
Example
Once 'turtle is Mina or Theo' finally resolves to Theo, cross the line out. The ledger should shrink as the board fills, not just grow.
