The order to work in: harvest every static clue first, sweep the grid, then re-read only the clues that were still dynamic.
Why it works
Re-reading every clue after every mark wastes effort. Splitting clues into 'fully used' and 'needs another look' turns re-reading into a short, targeted list instead of the whole sheet.

Common mistake
Re-reading the entire clue list from the top after every single mark, instead of tracking which clues are already spent.
